Contour (darker shade): Used to create the illusion of shadows, receding areas, or sharper lines.

Highlight (lighter, often shimmery shade): Used to bring forward and emphasize areas of the face by reflecting light.

Key Features and Benefits of a Highlighter & Contour Stick:

Cream Formula: Being a stick, it’s typically a cream-based product.

Blendability: Cream formulas are generally very blendable, allowing for a seamless, natural-looking finish, especially if you blend them quickly after application.

Natural Finish: They tend to melt into the skin for a more skin-like, less powdery finish compared to some powder products.

Hydration: Some cream formulas can offer a bit of hydration, making them suitable for drier skin types.

Ease of Application (Stick Format):

Direct Application: You can apply the product directly to your face, making it quick and mess-free.

How to Use (General Application):

Prep: Apply your foundation and concealer first.

Contour:

Draw a line with the contour shade in the hollows of your cheekbones (suck in your cheeks to find them).

Apply along your jawline.

Draw lines along the sides of your nose.

You can also apply it along your hairline.

Highlight:

Apply the highlighter shade to the tops of your cheekbones.

Dab a small amount on your brow bone.

Apply a thin line down the bridge of your nose.

A small dot on your cupid’s bow.

Blend: This is the most crucial step. Use a damp beauty sponge, a dense buffing brush, or your fingertips to blend out both the contour and highlight seamlessly into your skin. Blend upwards for contour and lightly tap for highlight to maintain its placement.
